• Personal Information: We do not collect personal information such as names, email addresses, or contact details unless voluntarily provided (e.g., via contact forms). If you submit questions, we do not store them on our servers.
• Usage Data: Automatically collected information includes IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, and pages viewed. This is gathered via cookies and similar technologies for analytics purposes.
• Query Data: Biblical questions or searches you enter are processed temporarily to generate responses using third-party APIs (xAI Grok, OpenAI, and a Scripture API). We do not store or log your queries on our servers. Your conversation history is saved only in your own browser's local storage. A private conversation is not saved on your device or shown in your conversation list, and it disappears when you close or refresh the page. Like all questions, it is still sent to the AI services listed below to prepare and review the answer. You can delete any saved conversation from the conversation list, and clearing your browser's data for this site removes them all.
• Update Sign-ups: If you sign up for updates (on the Stay in Touch page, or by leaving the stay-in-touch box checked when you use our contact form), we receive the email address (and name, if you give one) that you enter. We use it only to send occasional updates about OpenBible.ai and related resources, never sell or share it, and will remove you whenever you ask.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and improve the Site's functionality, such as generating AI-powered Bible responses.
• Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience (via Google Analytics).
• Respond to inquiries if you contact us.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Third-Party Services

Your queries are sent to:

• xAI Grok API: For AI responses. See xAI's privacy policy at x.ai/privacy.
• OpenAI API: As part of our two-step accuracy review, answers are independently reviewed by an OpenAI model, which checks them against the text of the Scripture passages they cite, before they are displayed. • Scripture API: For Bible verses. See their privacy policy at scripture.api.bible/privacy.
• Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous site usage statistics. See Google's privacy policy.
• Contact form: Messages sent through our contact form go by email directly to us through Encounter Press's own server, which briefly keeps a count of submissions from each IP address to prevent spam.

We do not control these third parties' privacy practices.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We do not sell your information. We may share data:
